Contacts
Contacts is your address book: the people and businesses you pay, with the details you need to pay them, saved once.
What a contact is
A name and at least one way of reaching or paying them: an email, a phone number, a bank account, or a wallet address. Save one and it is a row you can open, copy from and edit, so the next time you pay somebody, their details are one press away rather than in a message thread somewhere.
Someone on Sempo
Press Add contact and choose Someone on Sempo. Type their email, the address they signed up with, which is also their Sempo address, and their name is filled in from their account. A contact found this way carries a Sempo mark in the list, so you can see at a glance who is on the network.
Someone else
Choose Someone else and type the details yourself: a first and last name, then whichever of the ways of reaching them you have. Everything except the name is optional and can be added later.
What you can save
- Email and phone, with the country’s dialling code chosen from a list.
- A bank account: an account number and a routing number.
- A wallet address, and which chain it is on. The chain is a choice you make, not something Sempo guesses from the address, because an address filed under the wrong chain is money sent somewhere it cannot come back from.
- Notes: anything you want to remember about them.
Two rules hold whatever you enter: a wallet address must come with its chain, and a contact must have at least one way of reaching somebody. The form says so under the field while you are typing rather than after you press Save.
Editing and deleting
Open a row to see everything saved about them. From the row’s menu you can Edit any detail, Copy wallet address when there is one, or Delete the contact. Deleting asks first, and removes only your saved entry, and does nothing to their account.
